As a rapidly growing business, Red Event Photography is always on the lookout for outgoing and talented individuals looking to join us on a casual basis as event assistants.

We are based in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and cater for a wide range of events including weddings, birthdays, corporate events and private parties.

As a business we are available 24/7, however the majority of our events take place at weekends and evenings, so being able to work at these times is a prerequisite. Don’t worry if you can’t work every week, we’ll do our best to give you the shifts that best meet your lifestyle, however reliability is an absolute must. You’ll be working at our clients’ once in a lifetime events. We don’t let them down.

What we are looking for

  • Outgoing and professional individuals

  • Live in, or close to, our Peterborough base

Ideally you will also be a driver, with use of your own car, although we may have some roles for non-drivers from time to time.

The role

Our event assistants will be trained to take on a number of roles. Typical roles include manning the photo booths, setting up the magic mirror and acting as a croupier on the fun casino tables.

As a booth host you will be required to assemble the booth prior to the event, manage it while guests are using it, before breaking down at the end of the event. You’ll be part construction worker, part security guard and part PR person. And 100% a fantastic host.

While you don’t need to be a superhero, you do need to be relatively fit, as the assembly process involves an element of lifting and stretching.

Hosts normally work in pairs and don’t worry if you don’t have experience, we’ll give you all the training and support that you need to deliver an outstanding experience to our customers. Occasionally you will be required to work on your own on a job, but that will only happen once we’re all happy that you are fully up to speed.

If you have a passion for photography and/or events then that’s a bonus. Experience of working in a casino is also welcomed but what we really want are people with great personality.

As a Red host, you’ll be on show during the event. We’ll provide you with a dapper uniform to be worn with a smile while working. You’ll need to be confident speaking to people from all backgrounds and you’ll radiate fun. Our guests are invariably out to have a good time and our job is to help them get the best our of their photo booth experience.


A typical event is between six to nine hours, including travel, set up and hosting. Our starting rate is £10 per hour, plus expenses and a mileage rate for staff using their own vehicles.

The position is initially on a zero hours/casual basis, but opportunities to work on a permanent basis may become available at a later time. Where possible, we will arrange rotas two to three weeks in advance.
